Free Your Mind!

Free your Mind!

The brain is a very powerful machine, you can’t imagine how strong it is. Use it to your advantage. Free your mind from what harms you.

Animals don’t have the power to think or worry, they don’t remember or think about tomorrow. They live the present in its entirety, enjoying every minute, living the day to the fullest. We humans have the power to think and reflect, to remember the past and worry about the future. In theory, we are big privileged. However, the mind can also play dirty and take away all the happiness we were feeling, if we don’t release everything that is necessary.

Tips to free the mind

  1. Don’t let your thoughts travel to the past

How many times do we go back to the past and remember the mistakes made? We think that if we had made different decisions, things would be better today. Thinking about the past can paralyze us. The past is behind us and no matter how hard we try, nothing will change what happened. Try to think of the past as something positive, we did our best and even if we made mistakes, we learned from them. We have a tendency to think that everything would be better if we had done things differently, but not quite, in fact everything could be even worse. As we do not have the power to guess what would have happened, it is best to look ahead. Free your mind from the past.

  1. Avoid worrying too much about the future

It is normal to think about the future when making some decisions, but it is impossible to predict it with certainty. Life takes many turns and you can’t know what’s going to happen. The best thing is to live in the present, because it is the only moment that can really be lived. Live in the moment because it won’t be possible to recover even a minute of it, thinking and worry only serve to get in the way.  Start appreciating and appreciating everything around you. Remember that when thinking about the past or the future, you are missing the present, you are not living the “now” in order to live impossible times. The only life that can be lived is the one you have here and now!  Enjoy every moment of life, open your eyes and pay attention to what you see around you, enjoy the little things.

  1. Let go of labels, traditions, beliefs and rules

Free your mind and don’t lock it in to things that have been troubling you all your life. For example, society expects you to be “normal and correct”, you have to get married, raise a family, go to college, etc… And if you don’t follow these traditions, you are the “rebel, the black sheep of the family.” Many, without even realizing it, live norms imposed by others.

You need to listen to yourself without distractions.  Make your life what you want, there’s no need to follow anyone. The answers are within yourself. Not harming anyone, life is yours and you own it. Make the decisions that will make you happiest. Don’t fall for the rubbish of following an already imposed model.

It is common in everyday consumerism to try to make us believe that we have a need to buy certain products, that if we buy them, we will be happier. And if we don’t buy it, we’ll feel like we’re outside of modern society.

A person who frees their mind doesn’t need to be an example to anyone, no matter if they have the latest cell phone technology, or if the clothes they wear are branded, simply because they do what makes them happy.

Life is what happens while we are waiting for something great to happen. Live life now and don’t let your mind distract you.
